“Innovative Development in Applied Business, Health and Information Technology in the Global Pandemic Era”
24 & 25 October 2021
One of the goals of a vocational program is to prepare human resources who have expertise and skills in their fields and are ready to compete in the workplace globally. However, the number of higher education institutions that provide vocational education in Indonesia is still limited, compared with the number of universities that provide “academic” education, and industrial needs. Additionally, the development of applied research is not quite optimal, which has an effect on the number of applied research works being produced.
In this regard, it is necessary to develop innovative applied research that can create quality works. These applied research will support the production of skilled human resources. Thus, efforts to accommodate various kinds of applied research works are necessary. So far, not many international conferences cover vocational or applied research results. In other words, the activities of exposure and dissemination of applied research works in the seminar forum are still limited.
Therefore, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia holds an annual international conference on vocational innovation and applied sciences (ICVIAS). It aims to provide a scientific forum for academicians, researchers, professionals, practitioners, and postgraduate students to share, discuss and disseminate ideas and innovations in applied sciences, especially in the fields of business, health and information technology. This year, 2021, ICVIAS comes to its 3rd edition, bringing a big theme “Innovative Development in Applied Business, Health and Information Technology in the Global Pandemic Era”. The reason for selecting this theme is that in 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic has exerted adverse impact on various fields and sectors, including business, health, and information technology. Various creativity and innovation from academicians and practitioners are needed to face and adapt to this global pandemic era. Therefore, this 3rd ICVIAS is expected to result in ideas, inputs, innovations and works or products that can help handle the global pandemic, contributing positively to the wider community at the regional, national and international levels.
